The Santa Lucia Open Dog Obedience Group (SLODOG) is a gathering of California Central Coast dog owners who love to live, work and just have fun with their dogs. Our members hail from San Luis Obispo, Los Osos, Morro Bay, Arroyo Grande, Nipomo, Santa Maria, Atascadero, Templeton, Paso Robles, and beyond.

We organize fun-filled "training" activities for canines and their human companions around disciplines such as canine conformation and the sports of dog agility, flyball, herding and obedience. We also organize Therapy Dog training and excursions, sponsor special events such as Dog Days, and participate, whenever possible, in local activities such as Fire Safety & Kids Fun Day at Home Depot in Atascadero.

Our club promotes the training and exhibition of dogs in a variety of disciplines within a friendly, sportsmanlike atmosphere. We educate the public about caring for and training their dogs as pets, companions, and members of the community. We sponsor events that demonstrate the benefits of dog obedience training, and we meet regularly to plan activities and conduct group business. At least once a year we try to hold a UKC obedience trial. (We're a UKC sanctioned club.)
